Once your firewall is delivered, complete these steps to activate and onboard.
Register the firewall
- Create a tenant (all firewalls must be licensed for MPSS).
- Register the serial number & affiliate with MSS org.
- Receive email with next-step instructions.
Configure the firewall
- Connect firewall to power & Internet.
- Complete initial configuration (e.g. NAT policies, static routes).
Begin Onboarding
- Use onboarding link to contact SonicSentry team with serial(s).
- Receive Health Check Report for Cyber Warranty eligibility.
- Review & authorize configuration changes.
Onboarding Complete
- SonicSentry applies best practices & ensures warranty compliance.
- Monthly Security Assessment Reports scheduled.
- Final Health Check Report delivered.
Important Note on Licensing
SonicWall firewalls will continue basic operation even without an active subscription (with the exception of the TZ80, which requires an active subscription to function).
However, without an active MPSS, APSS, or other protection service license, critical security features — including threat protection, firmware updates, reporting, and the cyber warranty — will lapse. To maintain full protection, management, and warranty coverage, an active subscription renewal is required.
